THE MERCER CHIEFS WALL OF FAME
The Mercer Chiefs are excited to announce the formation of the “Mercer Chiefs Wall of Fame.” This wall includes a select group of individuals, with a voting process every June, where a maximum of two inductees will be considered each year. Some years, there may not be any inductees. Inductees will not be simply chosen just to do so. It has to be earned, voted on and approved!
To establish the prestigious Wall of Fame at Ice Land, we carefully selected the first ten inductees. The first choice was a simple one. In fact, it simply could not have been anyone else. Chris Barcless, our hockey director, has been with the Mercer Chiefs since 1988 and has been a staple of excellence and integrity for the Chiefs programs for many years. Without say, he is an amazing coach and he coaches for all of the right reasons. Chris is not about self-promotion (in fact, he will probably be embarrassed by this honor!) but this is well deserved! Chris not only coached most of the nine players chosen but they all went on to play professional hockey! An amazing job by an extraordinary coach.

Chris Barcless
- His teams have played in the National Championships 4 times since the year 2000, and have won 2 bronze medals
- Over 24 years experience coaching AAA hockey
- Served as head coach for Hightstown High School and Princeton Day School, capturing 8 State Championships
- 12 time Coach of the Year for High School Hockey
- Named Coach of the Decade in the year 2000
- Played for the Little Flyers, Rockets Youth, New Hampton Prep (captain), Geneseo State University (captain of the Ice Knights)
- Played professional hockey in Europe
- USA Hockey Atlantic District Festival Staff
- 2021 Youth Coach of the Year, Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association
Ross Colton
- Drafted 4th round (#118 overall) in 2016 NHL Entry Draft by Tampa Bay Lightning
- Played in the United States Hockey League (USHL) for the Cedar Rapid Roughriders (2014-16)
- Played at the University of Vermont (2016-18)
- Played in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Syracuse Crunch (2018-20)
- Currently playing in the NHL with the Tampa Bay Lightning
- Scored the Stanley Cup-clinching goal in Game 5 of the 2021 Stanley Cup Finals
Tony DeAngelo
- Played in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Cedar Rapids Roughriders (2010-11)
- Played in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) (2011-15)
- Drafted in the 1st Round (#19 overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning
- Finished 4th among NHL Defensemen in points scored in the 2019-20 NHL season (53 points in 68 regular season games)
- Played for the Arizona Coyotes, New York Rangers and is currently playing for the Carolina Hurricanes
